200 Hour Program

Students who wish to begin their massage therapy training with California Holistic Institute begin by enrolling in the 200  Hr Practitioner Program. Upon completion of this program students will have a strong foundation in massage therapy and will be eligible to continue their education in specific areas of interest. CHI is a private institution approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (http://www.bppe.ca.gov). This program offers a comprehensive introduction to our 500-hour Massage Therapist program should a student wish to continue their education.
 

As a graduate of our 200-hour Massage Practitioner program, you are eligible to obtain a business license and work in the cities of San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. You may also obtain a county business license allowing you to work in the many non-incorporated towns such as Nipomo, Oceano, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Los Osos, Cayucos, Cambria, Templeton, etc. The cities in our county that currently require the 500-hour state certification are Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, and Grover Beach. Both Paso Robles and Pismo Beach have permit and license options in a tiered fashion where you may apply with 250 hours of education completed and requirements for where you may work and to continue training towards the 500-hour level within their specified period. Santa Maria requires 500 hours of education as well.
 

The 200-Hour Massage Practitioner Program consists of 180 classroom hours and 20 internship student clinic hours which are scheduled in the afternoons during the week and on four Saturdays.  Course hours include lectures, hands-on demonstrations, individual evaluation, basic anatomy and physiology specific to bodywork, business ethics, business management, communication, and documentation skills.  Upon completion, students may opt to enroll in the 500-hour program and plan out the additional 300 hours of training needed to complete it.
 

The 200-Hour Practitioner Program is offered six times per year.
 

Day Schedule: 
Mondays- Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
 

January 16 through April 3, 2024 
May 13 through August 1, 2024 

Sept. 16 through December 5, 2024
 

Evening Schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 9:30 p.m. and
one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) of each month from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm 

(usually, the first weekend of each month during the course)
 

January 9 through April 11, 2024

May 2 through August 8, 2024

September 3 through December 12, 2024
