ENROLLMENT

 To be eligible for admittance an applicant must:

• 18 years of age or older
• High School diploma, GED, or be able to pass an approved U.S. Department of Education examination pursuant to section 484 (d) of the federal Higher Education Act of 1965 for applicants without the ability-to-benefit in order to participate in this program. The “ability-to-benefit” exam accepted at CHI is the ESL Placement test for students who native language is not English and who are not fluent in English. Applicants who have graduated from foreign schools must submit a notarized, translated high school diploma, or equivalent, or college degree.
• Be in good health and capable of physically performing massage and receiving massages during class from classmates. 
• Provide a copy of high school diploma or college transcripts during enrollment.

Applicants are encouraged to receive a full body massage from a professional massage therapist of their choice before admittance. We also welcome prospective students to come to our student massage clinic when it is occurring. 

Prerequisite for enrollment in the 500-hour program, students will have completed a minimum of 200-hour state-approved school in massage therapy. Students with previous massage education that has been approved by CAMTC may continue their education here at California Holistic Institute. Students can accumulate their 500 hours from more than one CAMTC approved school, however, it is CAMTC that determines if your previous education is accepted. 

All of the classes here at CHI, are included in (apply towards) our 500-hour program, which is approved by CAMTC. CHI does not transfer any previous training into our 200 or 500-hour programs. Once we meet with you, we will determine which program will be most appropriate to begin your training with us.

Massage professionals who wish to take classes for personal and professional enhancement may do so on an individual basis.

All applicants are required to complete an enrollment application and receive a tour of the school before admittance. 

Applicants may be enrolled up to the starting date of the course. But, inclusion in the class is dependent on space availability and acceptance by the director.

Tours of the school are scheduled on a first come first served basis. At the time of the enrollment, the applicant should submit a non-refundable $200.00 registration fee. This will ensure a spot in the class.

Each person is accepted only if, in the school’s opinion, the individual has the possibility of success in the chosen class. Due to the intensive format of the class, and other requirements unique to massage instruction, acceptance is not guaranteed.

If the student is not admitted by the school, or if CHI cancels a class, the registration fee will be returned in full.

Re-enrollment or re-entrance will be approved only after evidence is shown to the director's satisfaction that the conditions, which caused the dismissal, have been rectified. 

YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR ENROLLMENT IN WRITING. You do not have the right to cancel it by phone or by not coming to classes.
